17th Lesson / Πρέπει να… / How to say should , must or have to in greek

In greek we use only the phrase ''πρέπει να...'' for should either must or have to...

Πρέπει να φύγω!

The syntax is :  the word ”πρέπει” plus the word ”να” plus the verb in the appropriate type and always in past tense. For example if I want to say : I have to go I must say ” Πρέπει να φύγω” but if I want to say: You have to go I must  say ”Πρέπει να φύγεις”. I mean that the verb’s conjugation depends on the personal pronoun before of it. Sometimes with some verbs we can use between the word ”να” and the verb one of the personal pronouns in acccusative case. For example : Πρέπει να σε δω. (I have to see you). Now let’s see the past tense of 5 common verbs in greek. This past tense is used only with ”πρέπει”.

2. φεύγω να φύγω / Πρέπει να φύγω
3. έρχομαι να έρθω / Πρέπει να  έρθω
