2nd Lesson | The final -ς and the final -ν

2nd Lesson / The final -ς and the final -ν

Hello Student! Today we are going to learn 2nd Lesson, So lets start today’s lesson…

  • THE FINAL -ς
As we see in the first lesson, in greek alphabet there are 3 Σ σ ς.
The last one is called τελικό (final).
We use it only in the end of a word. Ex. Σωκράτης , λόγος, μέθοδος
When I want to use the sound /s/ in the beginning or in the middle of a word I use this one /σ/
  • THE FINAL -ν
2nd Lesson - The final -ς and the final -νWhen we use the final -ν usually there is a change in pronunciation.  So, when the next word starts from π,τ,κ  we pronounce like /mb/, /nd/, /ng/.

Ex. δεν πάω —- /thenbao/

          την τάξη ——- /tindaksi/

την καρέκλα ——- /tingarekla/

Of course we have to talk a lot for the final -ν.

Stay tuned!
