Dipthongs αι, αη and οι, οη pronounced as one syllable in a word .
Examples:
νεράιδα /neraitha/ (We must put the stress on the first vowel of dipthong).
αηδόνι /aithoni/, κορόιδο /koroitho/, βόηθα / voitha/
”ια” , ”ιο”, ”ιε”, ”ιου”: The ‘i’ sound of the dipthong is pronounced like ‘γ’ (in the word γεμάτος) παιδιού /pethyou/ or like ‘χ’ (in the word όχι) after μπ, ντ, β, ζ, ρ, π, τ, φ, θ, σ /ποιος /pxios/
and as one syllable after ν, λ, κ, γ, χ, γκ
Examples: νιος /nios/ , ελιά /elya/ , για /yati/
